To help us setup and administer your account with us as well as deliver the service to you, we'll need to ask you some questions and get to know you a little better. Occasionally we will use third parties help us to deliver services, manage accounts, or manage our business more generally. In such cases we may be required to disclose the information we're collecting here to them, but we will make sure they don't use it for their own purposes.

Service Location

Please enter the primary service address from which the VoIP service will be used. By law we are required to submit this address to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND) to ensure you can be located if you make a call to emergency services. We will also use this address to select the appropriate direct inward dialling (DID) number, to ensure that calls to your local area are considered local.

NetSIP Customer Service Guarantee (CSG) Waiver

NetSIP takes great pride in being able to offer some of the most competitive VoIP rates in the industry, but in order to achieve these great rates we require you to waive certain rights specified in the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999 which are collectively known as the Customer Service Guarantee or CSG.

While you are not under any obligation to agree to this waiver, unfortunately we may not be able to supply you with this VoIP service unless you agree to this waiver. We consider that due to the technology involved in delivering our VoIP services it would be impractical for us to comply with the CSG while continuing to charge a competitive rate for the service. In accordance with part 5 of the Telecommunications (Customer Service Guarantee) Standard 2011 (Cth), NetSIP therefore proposes that you waive your protection under the CSG in full. The CSG rights that we are proposing you waive broadly break down into three categories, as follows:

  • The provision of written information

    Under the CSG, we would be required to give written information to you about the CSG every two years. This includes, information about the performance standards that apply to some of our services, our obligations under the CSG and your entitlement to damages under the act for a breach of the performance standards.

  • The maximum timeframes in the performance standard

    The CSG sets out maximum timeframes for connecting a service, repairing faults or service difficulties and attending appointments with customers. The specific timeframes vary based on your distance to telecommunications infrastructure and the size of the community you are in as well as the nature of the appointment.

  • The compensation scheme

    The CSG contains a compensation scheme which provides that if we fail to meet any of the requirements of the performance standards set out in the CSG, you will have access to a prescribed amount of compensation for each time we do not meet those standards. The amount of compensation also varies depending on the circumstances surrounding the event.

If you agree to waive these rights, we will not be bound by the performance standard and you will not be able to claim compensation from us for a breach of a performance standard, other than under any contractual SLA which may apply. Typically our Low Touch Voice service is provided without any SLA, or any warranty regarding uptime and performance. If you agree to this waiver it will take effect from the day you agree to it.
